I plan to use (hopefully) many credible sources for my essay, including the internet, news articles and books and magazines. With the internet, I will know they are credible if there is a clear author or organization who hosts the website, if the date on the website is current, and if there are other links that will take me to other resources within the internet. Credible sources are important because you are using them to support your thoughts, thesis, and main points of your writing.
